In the U.S., domestic science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) degree production is not keeping pace with the demand for STEM talent, and women, racial and ethnic minorities, and persons with disabilities represent the largest untapped STEM talent pool. AIR’s work supports the national effort to prepare more students for educational and career success in STEM by meeting the diverse needs of all students; using resources, evidence, and practice to support continuous improvement and accountability; and improving teaching and learning of 21st century skills that students need to thrive in the global economy.
